Mrs. Bennett
My name is Alisa (Lisa) Bennett, and I am so excited to teach Kindergarten at Kruse Elementary! I have spent the last 9 years as a part of the Kruse community as a parent, a volunteer, and as an educator in one capacity or another. It feels like home to me. I have an Early Childhood Degree from UNC and an endorsement in Elementary Education. During my long formal education, I spent several years teaching preschool locally, as well as teaching in PSD as a substitute and Paraprofessional. I am happy to have landed at Kruse, and look forward to getting to know each family.
Although I moved all over the west as a child, I am a Colorado native, and have spent the last three decades in Northern Colorado. I love Fort Collins, and I am thrilled to raise my family and work here! My husband, Jason, is a local firefighter, and together we have three beautiful children who are all former Kruse students. We spend our spare time watching our budding athletes in their sporting events, gardening, hiking, and playing with our dog. I am lucky to have a large family, who are mostly local, and spend a lot of time with them as well.

Mrs. Carol Walbye - Paraprofessional
I love Kindergarten! I love everything about these kids from helping them understand when to sit still and listen, to teaching them letter sounds and how to put them together to make words, to helping them figure out how to zip up their coats!
I have been a paraprofessional working in Kindergarten at Kruse with Mrs. Dolgin since 2008 and one year with Mrs. Umbreit. I also substitute teach when the need arises within the school. I have one son who is a Kruse graduate, and after volunteering at Kruse for all his elementary school years, I decided I may as well work here!
I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Industrial Relations from CSU and after working for years in the hotel industry, I became a trainer for a software company. I married my husband in 1993 and continued in the teaching and training arena until I had my son in 1998.
I enjoy meeting the new class of Kindergarteners each fall and getting to know and love them throughout the school year. It’s a thrill to see how much they progress and grow in such a short amount of time!
